Employment Application

Lead Teacher:

 Qualifications:(any of the below)

  • CDA credential
  • TCC/TCD in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
  • Associates or bachelors degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
  • Must Pass a federal background check required by Bright from the Start
  • If none are applicable candidate must be complete one of the above within 18 months of becoming lead teacher

Experience:

  • At least 6 months of childcare center experience

Skills:

  • Knowledge of how to create lesson plans that aline with Georgia Early Learning Standards (GELDS) or willing to learn within the first month of hire
  • Familiarity of Bright from the Start regulations

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide a warm,safe, and nurturing environment
  • Interact with parents/guardians in a caring professional manner
  • Implement a daily program that meets the well being of each child as a group that in a manner is consistent with a Christian based educational system
  • Interact with each child in a manner that supports self-esteem, encourages independence and shows respect for each child
  • Diaper changes that follow Bright from the Start guidelines
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with staff members
  • Attend all staff meetings and training sessions
  • Be willing to learn and increase professional knowledge
  • Comply with all rules and regulations of Bright from the Start

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

  • Lift a child weighing up to 50 pounds

Assistant Teacher/Floater

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • CDA credential/TCC strongly preferred
  • Must pass a federal background check required

Experience:

  • At least 6 months working in a childcare center

Skills

  • Familiarity with Bright from the Start regulations/willing to attend trainings to learn
  • Able to attain knowledge on how to write lesson plans that pair with Bright from the Start regulations

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as lead of the classroom when lead teacher is absent
  • Interact with each childs in caring manner that supports self-esteem, encourages independence and shows respect for all children and families
  • Follow proper diaper procedures from Bright from the Start
  • Positive communications with parents
  • Comply with regulations of Bright from the Start
  • Be willing to learn/attend trainings to increase professional knowledge
  • Floaters: be able to move from room to room as needed on a daily basis

  • Lift child weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Sit comfortably on the floor while interacting with children
  • Change position frequently during the day

Pre-K 3 Teacher:

Qualifications:

  • CDA or TCC in Infant/Toddler/Early Childhood Education or equivalent as approved by Bright from the Start
  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
  • Must pass a federal background check required by Bright from the Start

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of working with ages 2-4 years old in a center environment

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Format monthly lesson plans using Georgia Early Learning Development Standards
  • Familiarity with Bright from the Start Regulations

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide a warm, nurturing and safe environment for each child in the class
  • Interact with each child’s parent/guardian in a caring manner
  • Implement a daily program that meets the emotional,physical,intellectual , and social need of each child and the classroom as a group in a manner that is consistent with a Christian based educational program
  • Interact with all children in a manner that supports self-esteem, encourages independence and shows respect
  • Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow staff members
  • Establish and maintain positive communications with parents
  • Attend all staff meetings and training sessions
  • Complete and turn in all required paperwork in a timely and professional manner
  • Comply with all rules and regulations of Bright from the Start
  • Be willing to learn and increase professional knowledge

Center or Office Assistant

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Child Development or Early Childhood Education credential or degree
  • A degree in unrelated field must be combined with experience in a child care center
  • Must pass a federal background check required from Bright from the Start

Experience:

  • At least 6 months working with children 0-3 in a center environment
  • Experience working in an office setting as an administrative assistant preferred

Knowledge/skills:

  • Familiarity with Bright from the Start regulations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong verbal and written communications
  • Familiarity with classroom ratios and staff shifts
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office

Job Responsibilities:

  • Field phone calls, receiving and directing visitors
  • Maintain a working knowledge of staff whereabouts and break scheduling
  • “Sell” the center to prospective families
  • Open and/or Close a classroom so that rooms have coverage before and after lead/assistants shifts end if needed
  • Open or Close the center if called upon to do so by Director or Assistant Director
  • Assist in generic office tasks and maintenance
  • Perform the duties of a floater if center is understaffed/ in emergency instances
  • Provide a warm,nurturing, safe and sanitary environment for each child
  • Maintain positive working relationships with co workers and families
  • Attend all staff meetings and training sessions

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

  • Lift child weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Sit comfortably on the floor while interacting with children
  • Walk up and down stairs
  • Sit comfortably at a desk
  • Stand and walk for periods of time when performing duties throughout the center
